Hello!
We are getting ready for our trip to Peru. We have a group of 11 students eager to start their experience in the Andean country. We have two classes/groups. The first one, led by Dr. Kyle Ingle, will focus on International Issues concerning School Leadership. The second is led by Dr. Aliaga, in the Comparative Education class.
We will start our time in Lima (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) working with local faculty, professionals, and visiting schools. We will attend lectures both at the Universidad del Pacífico (University of the Pacific) as well as the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (Pontifical Catholic University of Peru). Part of our CE class will also have a chance to spend their days in Lima working in a local school.
After our work is done in Lima, we will travel to Cusco (or Cuzco or Qosqo, depending on your preference) for more exciting experiences. There, we will visit a couple of schools and will explore curriculum approaches using the local Quechua language.
Finally, our trip to Cusco will also include a day visit to the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World!
